Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
This policy explains what Endeavor Web Solutions, LLC (“we”, “us”), the company responsible for your information, collects when you use the Slate apps and slateplanner.com; why; who helps us; how long we keep it; and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to us at support@slateplanner.com.
The short version
- We collect what Slate needs to work: your account, and the plans, tasks and habits you put in it.
- We don’t sell your information, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
- Your calendar, reminders and notifications stay on your device.
- The AI that turns what you say into tasks can’t keep it or learn from it.
- You can export your data or delete your account, and everything in it, at any time.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address and the name you give Slate. If you sign up with an email and password, your password is stored securely and never in plain text. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account identifier and email they share with us (Apple may give us a private relay address instead).
What you put in Slate
Your tasks, subtasks, habits, notes, schedules, deadlines, areas and tags, missions, completions and history, and the settings and views that sync between your devices. We store them so Slate can keep your devices in step and show you your history. Slate doesn’t ask for sensitive information, but what you write may include some, such as a medication habit. It’s treated like everything else you put in Slate: used only to provide Slate to you.
Voice to Task
When you use Voice to Task, Slate listens on your device and sends only the moments you’re speaking, in short recordings, along with the names of your areas and tags, to an AI service that turns them into task drafts for you to review. The AI service isn’t allowed to keep what we send or to train on it, and we don’t keep the recordings after they’re processed. We never create a voiceprint or use your voice to identify you. Nothing becomes a task until you choose to create it.
Importing tasks
When you import tasks from another app, a file or a pasted list, the text you import may be sent, with the names of your areas and tags, to the same AI service to suggest details such as dates and areas, under the same rules. When you import from Reminders, Slate reads only the lists you choose, on your device, and never changes them.
Calendar, Reminders and notifications
With your permission, Slate reads your calendar events on your device to show them beside your tasks, and can add your scheduled tasks to a calendar you choose. Your calendar events and reminders are not uploaded to us. Reminders and badges are scheduled by your device.
Diagnostics
If Slate crashes or hits an error, it sends a report (what went wrong, the app version and device model) so we can fix it. These reports are set up not to include personal details such as your name, email or IP address.
The early access list
If you join the early access list on slateplanner.com, we store your email address, which signup form you used and when.
The website
slateplanner.com uses no cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. When you submit the early access form, a bot check confirms you’re a person, which involves information such as your IP address and browser. Like most websites, ours keeps standard request logs, such as IP addresses and times, to run the site securely.
How we use it
- To run Slate: keep your account, sync your data between your devices, and provide features such as Voice to Task and importing.
- To keep Slate secure and protect it from abuse, spam and fraud.
- To find and fix bugs.
- To answer you when you contact us, send your early access invite, and tell you about important changes to Slate or these terms.
We don’t sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use your content to train AI models.
Why we’re allowed to use it
Where the law asks for a reason, such as in the EU and the UK, we rely on:
- Providing Slate to you under our Terms of Service: your account, keeping what you put in Slate in sync, and the features you choose to use.
- Your permission, for calendar, reminders, microphone and notification access, and for joining the early access list. You can take it back at any time in your device’s settings or by writing to us.
- Our legitimate interests in keeping Slate secure, preventing abuse and fixing bugs, which we weigh against your rights.
- Legal obligations, when the law requires us to keep or share information.
We don’t make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based only on automated processing. The drafts that Voice to Task and importing suggest are only suggestions until you choose to keep them.
Who helps us run Slate
A few trusted companies help us provide Slate. They handle your information only on our behalf, and only for the job below:
- Storing and syncing your data: Supabase keeps your account and everything you put in Slate, so it’s there on all your devices.
- Voice to Task and importing: OpenRouter and the AI providers it works with (currently Google) turn what you say or import into task drafts, without keeping it or training on it.
- Fixing crashes: Sentry receives crash and error reports, so we can find and fix problems.
- Signing in: Apple and Google, if you choose to sign in with them.
- The website: Cloudflare runs slateplanner.com and checks that early access signups come from people, not bots.
- Email: an email delivery service sends the messages you’ve asked for, such as your invite.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to it.
How long we keep it
- Your account and what’s in it: until you delete them or your account. Deleting your account removes its data from Slate right away; any leftover copies in our providers’ systems are deleted on their regular schedule.
- Voice recordings: not kept. They’re discarded once they’ve been turned into drafts.
- Crash and error reports: up to 90 days.
- The early access list: until you’re invited, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Website request logs: a short time, to keep the site secure.
Your choices and rights
- See and export your data: Slate can export a backup of everything in your account.
- Correct your data by editing it in the app.
- Delete your account and its data from the app’s settings, or by writing to us.
- Turn off calendar, reminders, microphone or notification access at any time in your device’s settings.
- Leave the early access list by writing to us.
Depending on where you live, such as the EU, UK or California, you may have further rights, including to object to or limit how we use your information, to take your data elsewhere, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We honor these requests from everyone, and we won’t treat you differently for making one. Write to support@slateplanner.com and we’ll answer within 30 days.
Tracking and Do Not Track
Slate doesn’t track you across other apps or websites, and slateplanner.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics, so there’s nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off. We don’t let anyone else collect information about you on our site for that purpose either.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted so each account can only reach its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects it, as the law requires.
Children
Slate isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we’ll delete it.
Where your information is processed
Slate stores your information in the United States, and our service providers may process it there and in other countries, whose data protection laws may differ from yours. When information comes from the EU, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK’s addendum) in our agreements with those providers, or on their certification under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
